We will meet at the airport at 11.15am to do check in.
Departure MLA – FRA 13.35 – 16.15
FRA – HEL   18.05 – 21.30

Upon arrival at Helsinki airport we will be taken by coach to Tikkurila Station to get the train to Rovaniemi. Departure  22.46 -10.34.

Train has sleeper cabins, each cabin has 3 beds.

27/12/07

Upon arrival at Rovaniemi, we will be greeted and taken to Sokos hotel were we will have a welcome lunch. We will then proceed to our rooms were we can rest.

16.00hrs we will be picked up by the guide to go and get all our equipment, you will be given your suit, helmet, shoes, socks , gloves and scarves. Please note that you will be able to keep your equipment for the duration of your stay, excluding the helmet.

We will then proceed to our first adventure.

Search for the Northern Lights:  This will give us a taste of the magnificent scenery to be found in Rovaniemi and if we are lucky we will see the Northern lights. We will be driving snowmobiles which is an adventure in itself. During the track we will stop for a rest were we will be served hot beverages and grilled sausages around the campfire.

We will then return to the hotel at 20.00hrs .

Dinner at 21.00hrs.

28/12/07

After Breakfast we will be picked up by our guide at 10.00hrs to go on our first excursion for today.

Cultural Path. This is a walking tour of 3 hours which will give us a truly good insight how the Lappish people lived and live today. We will visit the Aalto Centre, Art Gallery, Marttiini’s knife factory were I am sure some of you will not be able to resist buying some of these work of art and then we will proceed to the Artikum a beautiful museum of Lappish history.

We will then return to the hotel were we have some free time.

We will then be picked up from the hotel at 14.30hrs to go on our next adventure.

Husky Farm: We will go to the husk farm by snowmobile were we will have a chance to see these truly beautiful arctic dogs. We will each have a chance to go on a sledge ride with these dogs. We will then be served hot beverages and Finnish pancakes served in a kota by an open fire. We will then return to the hotel.

Dinner at 21.00hrs

29/12/07

After breakfast we will be picked up by our guide at 09.30hrs. We will go to the local reindeer farm by snowmobile were we will get to know more about these fabulous creatures that are so important to the Finnish people. We will then go on a reindeer ride were we will also each be given a reindeer driving license and also be given a certificate for crossing the arctic circle. We will then be served Finnish pastry and hot beverages in a log cabin. We will then be taken by coach to the Santa Claus Village a truly unique experience, were we will be served lunch and then we will have free time to go and do all the activities such as meeting Santa himself and taking photos and visiting Santa’s post office were millions of cards are sent each year, we will be able to see the elves at work and much more…….  We will return to the hotel at 18.00hrs.

Dinner at 21.00hrs

30/12/07

After breakfast we will be picked up by our guide at 09.30hrs were we will be taken by coach to the Ranua Zoo. Here we will see all the different types of Arctic animals including the beautiful and majestic Polar bear. After going round the Zoo we will then have a much deserved lunch. After lunch we will have some free time. We will then be picked up by coach and return to the hotel. We will arrive at the hotel around 15.00hrs.

We will be picked from the hotel to the airport at 17.00hrs.

Departure Rovaniemi – Helsinki 18.05 – 19.20.
