At the East of the island, the main attraction is the Isle aux Cerfs, a small island near a village named Trou d’Eau Douce, famous for its emerald water like in Belle Mare, a fantastic water park.
At the South of Mauritius, two natural spots, Gris Gris and Le Souffleur, offer some breathtaking sights. At Souillac is the Robert Edouard Hart Museum dedicated for the poet and painter. At Rivière des Anguilles is the Vanilla Crocodile Park and at the South are ruins of ancient fortifications of this region.
Finally at the Central Mauritius, the Black Forest Gorges covers an area of deep gorges and forested mountains. The Trou aux Cerfs, an extinct volcanic crater and the Petrin to Grande Rivière Noire, a superb long hike take you through some of the most scenic countryside in Mauritius.
